Japanese watchmaker Seiko 5 Sports has teamed up with Honda to celebrate one of the brand's most iconic two-wheelers,the Honda Motocompo. The collaboration marks the folding scooter's 45th anniversary with a special limited-edition timepiece that combines retro design with everyday practicality.
Instead of creating a flashy collector's piece, Seiko has focused on the Motocompo's unique personality. The watch features a 36mm field watch case, making it comfortable for daily wear while staying true to the compact spirit of the legendary scooter. The standout feature is its bright yellow dial, inspired by one of the Motocompo's most recognizable color options from the early 1980s.
The design also includes a custom strap, subtle Seiko and Honda branding, and vintage-inspired details that pay tribute to Japanese industrial design. Every element reflects the minimalist styling that made the Motocompo a cult favorite among motorcycle enthusiasts and collectors.
Originally introduced in 1981, the Honda Motocompo became famous for its clever folding design, allowing it to fit inside the trunk of compact Honda cars. Although production lasted only a few years, the scooter remains one of Honda's most memorable creations and continues to enjoy a loyal fan following around the world.
Limited to 8,000 pieces worldwide, the Seiko 5 Sports × Honda Motocompo watch is available for pre-order through selected Seiko retailers and official channels, with deliveries expected to begin in September 2026.
The collaboration is expected to appeal to both watch collectors and automotive enthusiasts looking for a wearable tribute to one of Japan's most iconic mobility innovations.
