ZEE5 Secures Bundesliga Broadcast & Digital Rights in India:A Game-Changer for Football Fans

Bundesliga: Zee Entertainment Bags Five-Year Exclusive Rights to Bring German Football to India

German football is coming home to Indian screens. In a major move that's set to reshape the football broadcasting landscape in India,ZEE5 has bagged the exclusive broadcast and digital rights for the Bundesliga, Germany's top-tier football league.

Z has secured the exclusive broadcast and digital rights for the Bundesliga in India for five years - starting with the 2026-27 season. Every Bundesliga match from next season onwards lives exclusively on Zee5 and the four Unite8 Sports linear television channels.

Indian football fans watching next season will get Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala, Michael Olise, Joshua Kimmich, and the full depth of one of Europe's most talent-rich leagues. The Bundesliga's India fanbase has grown by over 50 percent across the last four seasons making this a rights deal arriving at exactly the right moment in the league's India growth story.

Z has also committed to allocating 15 percent of Zee5's football-related subscription revenue toward identifying and training young talent across the country. A broadcaster investing in the sport it broadcasts, not just the audience that watches it, is a meaningful distinction.

Where to watch: Zee5 app and website for streaming, Unite8 Sports channels for television. The 2026-27 Bundesliga season begins in August 2026.

The Bundesliga joins ZEE5's growing sports lineup, which already includes:

  • UEFA Champions League
  • UEFA Europa League
  • UEFA Europa Conference League
  • FA Cup

This follows Z's FIFA World Cup 2026 partnership announced earlier this year. In the space of one season, Zee has gone from a broadcaster trying to find its sports identity to the single most important address for football in India. FIFA and Bundesliga under one roof is not a coincidence. It is a strategy.

The 2026-27 Bundesliga season kicks off in August, and with it, a new era of football viewing in India begins.
